Spring Break Part 2 - Sunning in San Diego.

San Diego is a lovely city! It's smaller than L.A., but I think it's friendlier.
We were staying in the USA Hostel which the busiest part of San Diego, the Gaslamp Quarter.

It would have been great if we were 21 because there were a load of bars, but hey ho, such is life.
It's pretty anyway - on all of the street corners there are, yes you guessed it, gas lamps.

For dinner we got some Mexican food at Fred's - seeing as we're so near to Mexico, it can't have been far from the real thing! Obviously, I had fish tacos.

Desperate not to go to bed too early for once, we went to to the cinema to see Oz: The Great and Powerful. We were the only ones in!

The next day we had a fun-filled day in San Diego.
We decided that we HAD to go San Diego Zoo, seeing as it's one of the biggest (and best) in the world.
It's in the main park in San Diego, Balboa Park, so we just took the bus, after we'd 'frequented' Ralph's for lunch (inside joke, sorry).

Once we were in the zoo, we started out with the bus tour, which was included in the ticket price.
Afterwards we just wandered. The place was like a zoo! Honestly, it was panda-monium.

We then took the bus back down to Broadway Pier, where we got on a ferry to take us across to Coronado, which is an island just off the coast of the city. It would have made my Dad proud - we HAVE to do a boat trip on every holiday, it's an unwritten rule.

Emily claimed this yacht as her own.

It was gorgeous, so we sat on the beach, watching the sunset and overlooking the city.
We had (our third - and counting!) pizza before heading back on the boat.

Spot the sea lion!
The views at dusk of the city were incredible.
