Waking Up In Vegas.

What do you get when you combine Las Vegas, two best friends and a (belated) 21st birthday celebration? Absolute hilarity, that's what!

On Sunday I met Rachel in Vegas for what was to be a week in Las Vegas. When I told people that we were staying for a week, I was met with 'A WEEK?! I'd be surprised if you last a weekend!'
It's true, Vegas is pretty full-on. I'm not sure I experienced it in its entirety the last time I was here (part onepart two and part three). This time we're throwing drinking, gambling and clubbing into the mix!

We're staying at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino, re-living our trip to NYC in 2010.
It's just like being back! Well - sort of. There are mini versions of all of the sights, at least!

On the first night, we were very excited by the prospect of being in Vegas, and by our hundred-dollar bills!

Evidenced by our huge smiles!

The next day, we took our time wandering around on the Strip, shopping and catching up. After all, we have a whole week!

In the afternoon, and slightly beaten by the heat, we thought we'd try out the pool - and I was very excited to wear my newly purchased bikini!

Very strange to be lying by a pool with a rollercoaster rattling overhead!

On the evening, and with Rach completely over jet-lag, we went out for our first big night on the town.

We managed to get on the guestlist for the Marquee nightclub at the Cosmopolitan (free entry, woohoo), so we headed over there and had dinner and drinks.

We ate at China Poblano, which I wouldn't recommend, very average.
Oh well, you win some, you lose some - especially in Vegas!

Afterwards we went to the Chandelier Bar, which I would definitely recommend - beautiful scenery, and the drink prices were the same as everywhere else (we're mostly talking $7 beers - yes, Vegas is overpriced).

Afterwards, we headed to the club - Marquee is meant to be one of the newest, hottest clubs in Vegas.

It certainly was swanky! We spent the first part of the night on the outdoor terrace by the pool...

...before we headed inside to dance.

Although it was a very nice club, it was a bit too flashy for us. We're not giving up though - tomorrow we're trying Pure at Caesar's Palace!

  1. AHHH I'm so jealous. You both look like you're having a fabulous time! Remember to do something Hangover-esque crazy. Ok, maybe not hangover-crazy - that would be a bit too hardcore. Have fun :)X
