Grand Canyon.

By day 5, we were feeling the heat in Vegas - literally, it's been 105 degrees this week!

Luckily, we were off to the Grand Canyon! Our original plan to go to the West Rim and Skywalk was scuppered by road closures, so instead we were taken on a longer tour, to the South Rim.
We were pretty perky considering we got up with the sunrise!

On the way, we stopped at the Hoover Dam, a huge man-made wonder in itself.

After a quick stop in a one-horse town, Kingman, AZ, we finally arrived at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, where we amused ourselves modelling ranger uniforms and filming 'nature' documentaries.

And then onto the Canyon. It really was a spectacular sight, and worth the journey. We stopped at two places, Mather Point, (where I took most of the photos) and Bright Angel.

Conquering the Canyon!

I still can't believe I've been to the Grand Canyon!
